Zildjian 20" A PLATINUM Ping Ride Cymbal Avedis
They don't make these any more because of the high cost of chrome-plating and now it is a highly-sought-after collectible... It's an intrigueing finish to see on a cymbal because we're so used to the yellowish bronze color but this tone but it really looks platinum... not so much chrome as a true platinum color. This one was made around the mid 1980's.
It has play wear but absolutely no abuse or real scratches or dings. The hole is round. The mounting hole is nice and round. You don't have to play a cymbal like this too hard to get what you want out of it. It's a fairly heavy/non-wobbly tone... therefore the "ping" denotation. It has very slightly more wash than a traditional ping but the beautiful high pitch "ping" cuts through so well that it just fits perfectly...great stick definaition. Vinnie used a 20" Platinum Ping ride for the whole record.
