Lexicon 300 Digital Effects System Reverb
Condition: 9 out of 10 cosmetic condition. This unit was obviously babied. The face is very clean and the top has some very very minor scratches. The powder coating on the parameter knob seems to be rubbed out a little so it's "bronzed" a little. Functionally, the unit works perfect. And we all know this box, it's the crown jewel of digital reverbs... Serial L0494-3569 Voltage 120v It was pulled from a professional working studio facility and was in use up to the day it was pulled out of the rack for sale.
Serial No. L0591-1698 Man. Date. 5/91
Product Description Since its introduction, the Lexicon Model 300 Series Digital Effects System has been acclaimed as one of the finest processors in the world. It offers a choice of single and dual machine configurations – offering a myriad of different effects possibilities that satisfy a wide range of needs. The 300 Series is one of the most versatile and powerful effects systems available at any price.
The 300 Series offers extensive analog and digital interfacing capabilities. With both AES and S/PDIF digital I/O, it interfaces with a wide range of digital recording systems, ensuring the signal remains in the digital domain throughout the signal path. With its multi-machine architecture, the 300 Series also allows both the analog and digital inputs to be used simultaneously. In post-production facilities, the 300 Series is also the system of choice for its extensive MIDI- and timecode-based effects automation.
Single and Split Setups Single ‘Setups’ run two proprietary Lexicon DSP engines in a single unified stereo configuration. One program is loaded, with both analog and digital inputs simultaneously available and able to be mixed together. Input levels and pans can be stored, automated, and later recalled.
The 300 Series’s multiple machine architecture allows for two different types of Split configurations: Dual Mono and Cascade. Dual Mono creates two independent parallel DSP machines, each being dedicated to input pans. Additional routing is possible to send both analog inputs to machine A and both digital inputs to machine B. Dual Mono setups also offers patch points which are in either ‘pre’ or post processor location.
Features- Includes the Random Hall, Random Ambience, Stereo Adjust (the mastering algorithm) and Rich Plate and Stereo Pitch Shift from the 480L running in Single mode. Stereo Mode uses both DSP chips in tandem. Split Modes utilize each processor individually providing Stereo Cascade and Mono Split Modes and utilize the Split group of algorithms which include: PONS Dither, Digital Compression, Mono Pitch Shift, Split Chamber, Small Stereo Adjust, and Twin Delays
- Full Dynamic MIDI implementation allows effects automation when used in conjunction with a SysEx capable sequencer or automation system
- SMPTE Time Code input with a 50 event, fully editable Snapshot Time code automation
- AES and S/PDIF digital I/O (RCA, Optical and XLR)- capable of inputting one format and outputting another (for example: AES in, S/PDIF2 out), mixing digital with analog signals, turning on or off emphasis or assigning SCMS status bits
- Dual Lexichip™ Architecture- These are our own proprietary microprocessors, custom designed by our own chief scientists to meet Lexicon's rigorous specifications ‘post’ processor location.
- The second type of split configuration is the Cascade mode. In this mode, the two DSP engines are arranged serially: the output of machine A feeds the input of machine B. A feedback control routes the output of machine B back to the input of Machine A. Each machine has independent mix controls. Cascade patch points include locations either ‘Pre A’, ‘Post A (Pre B)’ or ‘Post B’.
