Langevin Tube Mic Preamp PP 6V6 pre amp and 116B
Condition: Excellent. This is extremely rare, vintage Langevin Tube Mic Preamp was custom racked by the amazing Jamie Sutton of Valley Sound in LA. This single channel all discrete tube preamp by Langevin is from an era of the broadcast industry that set the bar on which every audio engineer bases their aesthetic notions of warmth, tone, fullness, and clarity.
Product History
Langevin was one of the original pro audio manufacturers dating back to WWII. In that era there were far fewer audio manufacturers and Langevin gear was very popular and especially respected in the broadcast industry. There were very few recording studios then and most of them relied on Langevin, Altec, Fairchild, and other great brands as well as home-made gear.

Instructions for Critical Listening Experiment
Start by listening to our control file. This file was recorded using a Sennheiser 421MD Microphone and a Digidesign 001 Mic Preamp, recorded straight to ProTools.
Then move onto the Langevin Tube Preamp file, in which, the same Sennheiser 421MD microphone was used, but rather than the Digidesign 001 Preamp, the Langevin preamp was employed, and then the Line Level signal was sent into the Digidesign 001 and recorded to ProTools.
